Gaborone United Chairman Rapula Okaila resigns from Gaborone United. This afternoon, GU released a statement confirming that they have parted ways with Okaila. Below is the statement in full:
The club wishes to confirm that club chairman Rapula Okaile has resigned from the club as chairman with immediate effect. Okaile cited personal problems in his resignation letter. He has since notified both the league and the BFA.
Gaborone United SC profusely thank Rapula Okaile for his selfless contribution to the club, leaving it in a respectable position in the league log, having played fairly good in the Mascom top 8 where we lost in the semi-finals.
Rapula leaves behind a competent management team and staff, a young squad compliment and a balanced technical team to take GU forward.
We urge our supporters to remain calmย throughout this transition period.
