GABORONE, Botswana – The Namibia Football Association (NFA) has expressed gratitude to the Botswana Football Association (BFA) for its generosity after including it in the recent and vital International Instructors Course (IIC) powered by the German Football Association (DFB).
“On behalf of the entire Namibia Football Association, the Executive Members under the leadership of President Mr. Ranga Haikali and Secretariat led by Mr. Franco Cosmos, I would like to extend a word of great appreciation to BFA as well the DFB. Let me also recognize the BFA Technical Department spearheaded by my fellow Technical Director and colleague, Dr. Carolin Braun for partnering with Namibia on this prestigious International Instructors Course,” said Jaqueline Shipanga, NFA Technical Department.
Shipanga noted that these types of courses are very rare in Africa and even in the world at large, that specifically focus on the empowerment and Capacity Building of Coaching Instructors.

“We received great reviews from all the (9) Instructors that attended the course. It was one of the best courses conducted, that challenged their roles as Instructors, football knowledge, methodology and especially enhancing their virtual technical presentation skills,” said Shipanga adding that, “Finally to DFB, you have always remained a great partner for the Namibian Football Development, more specifically through the expert services of former NFA Technical Director, Klaus Staerk.”
Aptly tagged ‘DFB International Instructor Course (IIC)’ from the German Football Association, the unique 5-day online class held last month wasdesigned to educate instructors of all levels in organised football, as part of the “International Sports Promotion.”
The BFA Acting Technical Director, Carolin Braun recently added that, “the course offered practitioners the opportunity to acquire supportive and practice-oriented teaching aids to increase their overall effectiveness of the education they offer. The aim is to link the existing football-specific and interdisciplinary skills of the instructor more strongly with methodical, social and media competencies.”
