DESCRIPTION:
The position of LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER for Botswana Football Association (BFA) is a full-time position:
To provide general legal advice to the association and, inter alia, facilitation and resolution of legal matters; corporate governance; supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the BFA; and ensuring statutory and policy compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in law.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a legal environment.
- Knowledge of BFA and FIFA Rules and Regulations, will be an added advantage.
- The Applicant must be an admitted Legal Practitioner by the High Court of Botswana.
- Private practice experience, will be an advantage.
- Botswana citizen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring the efficient delivery of legal and secretarial support to the Secretary General, the BFA NEC, and various committees.
- Ensuring that well researched recommendations be made available to the BFA, its committees and stakeholders.
- Using internal and external resources and research to provide legal and technical support to the BFA its committees and stakeholders.
- Compiling agendas and minutes on meetings.
- Co-ordinating all meetings of the BFA, NEC, committees and stakeholders.
- Ensuring that the BFA constitution, is adhered to.
- Ensuring that the Rules of the BFA are adhered to.
- Ensuring compliance with the strategic vision and mission of the BFA and with governance principles.
- Providing technical and legal support to the Association.
