2017/2018 season RESULTS

After weeks of hard work by both Secretariat and the First Instance Body educating and evaluating clubs, time has come to announce results. It must be note that Club Licensing is an exercise used by FIFA to make sure football business is improved.

This serves to report that we have finalized the adjudication exercise, and all the BPL Clubs have been duly informed of the outcome. Please note that almost if not all the clubs were given a PROVISIONAL LICENSE. The clubs were given a maximum of two months (31st October 2017) to adhere to the shortfalls noted during the exercise. And they are at liberty to correct the raised shortcomings before the set date.

The First Instance Body (FIB) members came up with a grading system below during the adjudication process; and the clubs were awarded marks based on this scoring system per each category

Therefore, the following teams were given PROVISIONAL (B) LICENSE with a PASS of 65% and below;

  1. Miscellaneous @ 55%
  2. Sharps Shooting Stars @ 60%
  3. Mochudi Centre Chiefs @ 65%

Other clubs were awarded PROVISIONAL (A) LICENSE with a PASS of 95% – 65%. They are as follows;

  1. Black forest @ 68%
  2. Sankoyo Bushbucks, BDF XI & Gilport Lions @ 70%
  3. Tafic SC @ 74%
  4. Extension Gunners @ 84%
  5. Flamengo Santos @ 85%
  6. Gaborone United @ 90%

Provisional was awarded at failure to address critical areas, and it is attached to all clubs who have shortcomings in critical areas such as audited financial report, administrative and personnel and Sporting criteria.

You may wish to note that Township Rollers, Orapa United, Police XI, Security Systems and Jwaneng Galaxy FC were awarded an OUTRIGHT/ FULL LICENSE @ 100% each, an effort which was regarded as commendable by the Licensing body.

In conclusion, all the clubs have shown a lot of commitment to the whole exercise, even though there were too many challenges on areas like Finances and Administrative and personnel. In an effort to address those challenges we conducted educational workshops, in which we engaged the clubs and discussed those challenges together to come up with concrete solutions. All in all, the whole project was a success.
