BFA sets aside Takunda Sadiki judgment

On Monday 21 December 2015, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) communicated the decision of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to review and set aside the judgement of the National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) in the Takunda Sadiki matter.

This has been done on the basis that the NEC is of the view that the NDC misinformed itself into making such a judgement. This the NEC did by invoking the powers rested in them by Article 9.3.11 of the BFA Constitution as read with Article 9.3.1 of the same Constitution. The NEC hold the view that electronic registration of players was adopted by the BFA General Assembly in August 2015, though yet to be incorporated in the Statutes; and therefore binding on all Clubs in the BPL.

The NEC is of the opinion that the NDC judgement on the other hand permits F.C. Satmos, and/or any club for that matter, to use a player who has not been properly registered.

F.C. Satmos have been advised to properly register Takunda Sadiki in the next transfer window before he can be allowed to play.

It follows therefore that Takunda Sadiki remains ineligible to play in official BFA matches. It follows further that F.C. Satmos remains with 5 points from 17 matches and Green Lovers with 19 points from 17 matches.
