 VACANCY: HR ONBOARDING OFFICER

You believe you have the educational background and professional experience to elevate the organization to the highest international standards? CAF is looking to recruit an HR Onboarding Officer. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the end-to-end cycle of the new hires’ onboarding process. 
  • Manage all the governmental issues related to the expats’ onboarding process. 
  • Align new employees with managers and their team and communicate involvement procedures to all of them. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and newly hired employees. 
  • Collaborate closely with different departments such as Travel, Service, Information Technology, Compliance, etc. to ensure a consistent employee onboarding experience. 
  • Audit data and set up HR employee personnel file; assist with the coordination, preparation, and distribution of employee documentation. 
  • Provide reporting and project updates to team lead and/or senior management. 
  • Develop and maintain an employee onboarding program and facilitate a sense of belonging for all employees. 
  • Develop and maintain relevant content/curriculum and service delivery methods/materials for employee orientation; serve as lead for sessions; assess needs and work with partners to create and support onboarding sessions for employees. 
  • Identify innovative and creative new ways to onboard new employees/reach a more scalable and measurable onboarding experience. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert and make recommendations on how to improve process efficiency. 
  • Ensure compliance with all processes and always maintain a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Ensure new hires have technical assistance to properly set up their hardware/software and distribute manuals, passwords, and guidelines, as needed. 
  • Challenge status quo and proactively identify process improvements. 
  • Maintain online content, include coordinating, updating, and maintaining database, and documenting processes and policies to manage employee onboarding experience. 
  • Collect data and generate reports related to satisfaction and belonging, and impact of onboarding and peer resource support; evaluate data and work with administrators to assist with continual process improvement. 
  • Resolve problems, handle difficult situations and provide appropriate referrals to other service areas or escalate issues as needed. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Requirements (profile): 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Human Resources, or similar. 
  • Additional studies in a related field is a plus. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar field. 
  • Experience in dealing with expats and governmental issues. 
  •  High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and other modern IT tools. 
  • Fluent in English language both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (French and/or Arabic) is a plus. 
  • Ability to work successfully and professionally with all levels of employees and management. 
  • Ability to understand basic technical concepts and explain them in simple terms. 
  • Fast learner, with strong work ethic (reliable) with “can do” and collaborative attitude. 
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once. 
  • Strong team player with a result driven approach and who can work with limited guidance. 
  • Energetic person with strong interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening. 
  • Organization, synthesis and analysis of varied and complex information and problems.

CAF Head of Safety and Security and BFA President Pay Courtesy Visit to Police Leadership

In a significant gesture of collaboration and partnership, Dr. Christian Emeruwa, the Head of Safety and Security for the Confederation of African Football (CAF), along with Botswana Football Association (BFA) President Mr. Tariq T. Babitseng and BFA Chief Operations Officer Mr. Kago Mosinyi, paid a courtesy visit to the Botswana Police Service. The visit aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two organizations, focusing on the integral role that the police play in ensuring the safety and security of all BFA competitions.

During the visit, the delegation met with integral pool of experts a  group of key police leaders, who are central to the successful execution of security operations at football events across the country. Among those present were prominent members of the Botswana Police Service, including Mr. Katlholo Mosimanegape, Deputy Commissioner of Police, and several senior officers.

These included Senior Assistant Commissioner Antony Wally (Director of Operations), Senior Assistant Commissioner Godfrey Phonchi (Commander, SSG), Senior Assistant Commissioner Boeletswe Gobotswang (Director, Departmental Services), Senior Assistant Commissioner Reginald Matlhaba (Divisional Commander, South Central), Senior Assistant Commissioner Mudongo Chitutu (Director, Crime Intelligence), and Assistant Commissioner Christopher B. Ndlovu (Deputy Director of Traffic).

The meeting was focused on discussing the coordination and support provided by the police in delivering effective safety and security measures during BFA matches, as well as future collaboration on upcoming projects. The visit highlighted the importance of this partnership in ensuring smooth and secure football matches for both players and spectators.

Both Dr. Emeruwa and Mr. Babitseng expressed their gratitude for the continued cooperation and commitment of the Botswana Police Service in safeguarding the integrity of football events and ensuring the safety of all involved.
