OREBONYE CROWNED CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP CHAMPION

Many of our local professional football players have yet to play in the finals of the CAF CONFEDERATIONS CUP, but yesterday our national team player Tumisang Teenage Orebonye became the first football player from Botswana to ever win the CAF Confederations Cup.

However, in keeping with the title of this topic, the Palapye-born attacker clinched the title last night (03 June 2023) with USM Alger.

The Zebras forward played full game as his team won 2-0 win over Abidjan-based Ivorian club Asec Mimosa, securing a place in the CAF Confederations Cup final against Young Africans Sports Club of Tanzania.

His Algerian club, USM Alger, played to a 2-2 in aggregates against The Yangas of Tanzania. Despite a 1-0 loss in the second leg of the final, which USM won 2-1 away from home, the team was crowned champions on the away goals rule.

Our warmest congratulations to our CAF Confederations Cup CHAMPION
