The Botswana Football Association (BFA) and Botswana National sports Commission (BNSC) through the Re Ba Bona Ha program call out to youth players between the ages of 6-12 to join a Re Ba Bona Ha Center near them to be part of the development program.

The program has nine centers across the country that include Francistown, Jwaneng , lobatse ,Serowe , Molepolole , Maun, Selibe Philwe and two centers in Gaborone at City polar Academy and Lekidi Football Centre.

The program is aimed at unearthing grassroot talent from across the country. The program is for both boys and girls .

Athletes are advised to call a local center and join them for participation.

The Mares Drawn In Group B for WAFCON 2024

Botswana’s senior women’s football team, The Mares, will face stiff competition in Group B of the 15th edition of the CAF TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The official draw, held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in SalΓ©, Morocco, set the stage for the tournament, which is scheduled to run from July 5 to 26, 2025. 

The Mares find themselves in a challenging group alongside African football giants Nigeria, who boast an impressive 11 WAFCON titles and are gunning for their 12th. Completing the group are Tunisia and Algeria, both formidable teams in their own right, promising intense competition. 

The draw was part of a ceremony celebrating the growth and vibrancy of African women’s football, with officials emphasizing the tournament’s significance in showcasing the continent’s talent and passion for the sport.
